Park Café
(1)
The concept of "BierGarten" in Germany is an outdoor venue, usually situated within a park, where there are plenty of picnic tables and where there are, depending on where it is, a small restaurant or a stall that prepares meals one can buy and take on a tray to a table. The specialties are typical of the bavarian area: Sausages, meats, sauerkraut, etc. .. But as the name suggests, the "Beer garden" is the realm of beer and in them you can find different types of beer which are served in jugs. This particular Biergarten is situated in the Munich Botanical Garden.

Hard Rock Cafe Munich
(4)
In the center of Munich's Old Town, you can find the Hard Rock, a place that exists in almost every city in the world. The restaurant is quite large and is divided into several zones. Sometimes music events are hosted in the largest dining area and meetings or other events. All the restaurants' walls are decorated with famous rock memorabilia, clothes, guitars, belts, platinum, etc.. You can find the same food as in other locations of the same chain, chicken wings bbq, Caesare salads, chicken Creole, American ice cream, etc.. You can find pins, shirts, bags, hats and other items in the gift shop. The opening hours are Saturday to Thursday from 12.00 am to 1.00 pm and Friday and Saturday from 12.00 am to 2.00 am.

Andechser am Dom

Right behind the cathedral you'll find this restaurant, which serves typical Bavarian dishes, and in the summer they have a great outdoor patio. This restaurants offer generous portions with a variety of sausages with sauerkraut all for very reasonable prices (about 12 euros), and they're delicious. But, the dishes I saw with other meats also looked great. Another advantage of this place is that you can find beer there that makes Andechs monastery monks located in "Isle of man" (herren insel) on lake Chimsee.

Augustiner

One of the many breweries in Munich is the Augustiner. Grace is the only brand that they serve (Augustiner) and is the oldest in Germany. The food is typical Bavarian and the waiters are dressed in costume. The food was very good and reasonably priced (generally in Munich prices at mealtimes are not overly expensive).

Chinese Tower (Chinesischer Turm)
(2)
This Chinese style wooden tower is located in the heart of Munich's English Garden. Is perhaps best known for being a beer garden and also for the characteristic tower. At the weekends, there is usually live Bavarian music. The English Garden is wonderful. The entire city of Munich is an exciting place to be, its people, its monuments, its terraces ... we do not like to go back to the same place twice but I am convinced that Munich is one of those places that you want to return to.

Zum Franziskaner

We had been drinking a beer in Hofbrauhauss and decided we wanted a quieter place to have dinner. We decided to try out this traditional Franciscan brewery which also has a restaurant next door. The prices are not excessive and the staff are friendly and speaks several languages.

Coffee Fellows
(4)
Maybe this is not the most authentic place you can find in Munich, nor is it the most original place for a coffee today because of its similarity with the ubiquitous Starbucks. But it's right next to the Hauptbahnhof abd is a very nice place to get some coffee or tea how you like it (with skim milk, soy milk, cinnamon, white or brown sugar, walnut liqueur, etc.) and the room is large and clear with comfortable armchairs. They also have a variety of typical New York-style "bagels" that are shaped like donuts but are really nothing more than bread. There are varieties of seed types. Like the coffee, you can also personalize your bagel a million different ways: with jam, ham, cheese ....

L'Osteria

If you are a pizza-lover and you are in Munich, I recommend you try a place called the Osteria Pizzeria. The pizzas are huge, but the base is very refined and delicious, their pizzas are for people ve do not have a difficult time leaving something on their plate. The service is fast and quite nice, although that depends on the day of the week as it is often full. If you do not book before it may be difficult to get a table and it may take you a while to wait, although you can always continue trying the many German beer brands in the bar. Another surprise in addition to the quality and size of the pizzas, is that when you pay you will see that the prices are pretty good if you consider the site and restoration in Munich is often more expensive than in Spain.

Schnitzlbaumer
One of the best places in the area. This brewery is a nice place for lunch or dinner. It is very spacious and is very good value. It also manufactures its own beer.

Alte Kuch'n Im Keller
When visiting Nuremberg I came looking for this place on the recommendation of friends who had lived in the city a good while. They said it had good food, a traditional atmosphere and costumed waitresses. This is what you'll find in the Alte Kuch'n. The place is tastefully decorated, and if time had not passed by. It's like going to a grandmother's house with a cute kitchen. In fact, if you enter the room, you can see the chefs cooking while dining. Really cool. The menu is varied and includes a shank and some kind of potatoes that were very good (they will be easy to identify, look at the section 'kartofen'). The only downside, is their waitresses are slower than a bad horse. At least the night I went, between two of them they covered the place dressed in period costume, I'm not sure about other times. I'd go back without hesitation, as long as i'm not in a hurry.

Vapiano

That is the motto of this Pizzeria in Munich, part of a chain of establishments worldwide. The Pizzeria is usually quite busy and it isn't hard to find Erasmus students or people ve are supplementing their education in this city. The specialty is fresh pasta, cooked to order with seasonal ingredients, all healthy and natural, and the proof is the small greenhouse herbs that are grown on the premises and used to flavor and season the pastas and pizzas. Delicious minestrone or tomato soup, ideal for combating the cold Munich nights. The restaurant has two floors and is very bright, there's also has a slightly more intimate section for having a drink. They don't accept table reservations.

Cafe Maelu
(2)
This is by far one of my favorite places in Munich. It offers delicious refreshments and Maelu Coffee is amazing. It's a two-floor place with slightly elevated prices. On the ground floor there's an amazing counter full of mini cakes, eclairs, pralines and all different kinds of cakes and pastries. The second floor is the cafe itself, which serves you the best hot chocolate in Munich. It's very creamy and flavorful chocolate but, amazingly, not heavy at all. Definitely, the best hot chocolate I've ever tasted.

Nektar

It was the restaurant that blew my mind more than any other in or around Munich and I suggest that anyone ve loves to discover new, and above all original places, original because this restaurant has it all. Since it was the first time I had dined at a restaurant while sitting on a sofa with a folding table and all we had was breakfast in bed, or they put you in the hospital, which is why many of my friends called it the "bed-restaurant." The setting has many different areas, all of which are decorated in different colors and shades of lilac and brown, but I personally liked the one that was decorated entirely in white with a reclining sofas and tables the most. It has no table or chairs that we know of. The food they serve there is called "copyright" or nouvelle cuisine. It's based on fresh fish, other kinds of seafood and vegetables. I very highly recommend this place!

Nurnberger Alm
If you visit this tavern at Christmas, watch your head! There's a sled hanging from the ceiling. I was worried it might fall but I suppose the Germans know what they're doing (or at least I hope). Jokes aside, the Nurnberger Alm is a warm and cozy place to get away from the bustle of the market and get a filling meal with a good local beer. There are tables and a bar, but when I went it was packed so you'll have to squeeze in where you can. Really cool place.

Provenza
(1)
We arrived in in Nuremberg in winter, when the town was covered with snow and Christmas lights in every corner. The restaurant Provenza offers the best views of the market square and the beautiful church. It's an Italian restaurants that's popular with the locals (and I have to admit that the atmosphere was great) and serves classic Italian food like pasta, pizzas, and salads. My minestrone soup could've been better but otherwise everything was tasty, well presented, and reasonably priced. I'd recommend it.
