Restaurants in Salou
Restaurante Portofino
(4)
Portofino is on the underside of the Novelty resort, on Paseo Jaime I, on a kind of square. It's a typical international restaurant serving everything from paella to pizza in the large dining room or on the terrace. The customer service is good and the prices are not too high. The overall quality would be a 7 out of 10. It's not haute cuisine, but it's a great place for friends or relatives because everyone can have something to eat.

El Toro

El Toro is an American restaurant specializing in meat, like ribs and T-bones. It's in the centre of Paseo Jaime I. The first floor is the restaurant, but the ground floor has a takeout area where you can also order pizzas. Take note, they have the best chicken wings in Salou! Accompanied by a sauce of your choice. Well it was a recent discovery, but I promise you won't regret it.

Sakura

This is a Japanese restaurant where you can order everything you want from the menu for a single price, that is, it's like a buffet, but it's served at your table. It is a good occasion to eat Japanese cuisine without worrying about your pocketbook: the value is pretty good. There is a teppan where they cook in front of you. The restaurant is decorated in a simple, but clean and cozy way, too bad that when I was there they allowed smoking, because for me it spoils a good meal. The staff is fast and efficient, and they don't bother or overwhelm you with unnecessary haste. There always seems to be room, but in summer it gets busier as it is located in the tourist area and its quality is far superior to other restaurants in the area. It's recommended for fans of Japanese cuisine ve want to eat a lot of food with good quality. Although it doesn't reach the level of some restaurants of the same type in Tarragona or Barcelona, it holds its own and is a good option in Salou.

Restaurante Club Náutico Salou

This restaurant, in Salou Marina, has a scrumptious and very high quality buffet. I went several times over the summer and although the price is high, the food, atmosphere and great harbour views are worthwhile. The customer service is perfect and it offers absolute tranquility, nothing like other massive buffets. There's a special price for couples, but for the rest it's 30 euros, including a drink. It's very busy and there are lots of seafood dishes, although I will say that everything is yummy and the meat doesn't detract at all. The atmosphere is formed predominantly by Nautical groups, so it can be a bit posh.

Restaurante Delfin

This is a great restaurant with plenty going for it. First is its location, on a terrace facing the sea; there are only two places in Salou where you can eat like this, Paseo Colon and the end of Paseo Miramar. The second is the quality, with an extensive menu specialising in rice and other dishes. Finally, the service is fantastic, well above what you'd expect in such a crowded tourist area.

D'Albert

On Saturday a group of 6 of us were having dinner at D'Albert. I ordered a pastrami pizza, and my friends chose a variety of different dishes, such as goat cheese salad, pizza, noodles, and pasta. My pizza was not bad, but it was too salty because the base had large salt grains on it, which is the first time I had seen this on a pizza. Despite the large number of people and the sense of chaos the service was fast and efficient. The rest of the guests were happy with their dishes, but my husband, did not like the chicken salad. I guess we choose a few wrong things... The atmosphere is very nice, we were sitting in the balcony area, and this is one of the few places that doesn't pack tables in, so you can enjoy a quiet dinner. Personally I would recommend it, but they should perhaps address the value for money.

Terramar

The Terramar is a clear example that you do not need a name or a local bombastic design to succeed. Located in Espigó Moll, this restaurant is popular for its dishes based on Mediterranean cuisine, seafood, and especially for their rations and tapas. I usually go after work and always fancy a grilled cuttlefish or grilled sardines. The service is very fast and competent. You can sit inside or on the terrace. In summer it is ver busy. As I said before, even when it is full, you do not have to wait long and despite the bustle the waiters are always friendly. I forgot ... The price ...... Perfect, even cheaper and better food than most other restaurants in the area.

La Piazza

I like this Pizzeria and we tend to go once or twice in the summer. Yesterday we were having dinner to celebrate my husband's saint day. The pizzeria is an old building in the Cape of Salou, which is accessible in two places. Parking is really difficult, because in the middle of August the Cape is bursting with tourists, so we left the car and entered the restaurant. You can dine on the terrace or inside. We were in the middle, in a corner of the lobby, next to two windows open for the breeze to come in from the sea. We ordered 2 pizzas and some appetizers to share. Everything was very good and well cooked, it was almost too hot. The service was quick and attentive despite there being lots of customers. We didn't have a dessert that time because we were all full up, but sometimes we do and they have always been very tasty. The price is not cheap, but neither too expensive. The only downside is the proximity of the other tables, I don't like to be able to hear the conversation of the people sat next to me whilst dining.

Las Brasas

Although I lived in Salou, I did not know a place where you could enjoy homemade food at a reasonable price until I discovered this restaurant. It is located in the tourist area, Carles Buigas, on Barbastro street. It has a dining room and covered terrace. Their avocado dishes are based on Spanish and Catalan cuisine. The menu is extensive and varied, it's not hard to find something you like. We started with toast with tomato, garlic and oil and also a kind of minced meat which was lovely. The dishes are more than generous, you will be full by the time you get to dessert! The service was friendly, fast and very professional. So if you are walking in this part of Salou on your holiday, you should stop by this restaurant.

La Prioratina
This place offered good service. The best thing was the croissants, the pastry was really tasty. I must also admit that I loved the pineapple and orange juices as well. The site is centrally located and the staff is friendly.I recommend it for couples, older people, numerous families, and even children. In the summer there are many foreigners.

Restaurante Mendebal

This restaurant is very close to the high street and Paseo Jaime I, and is open throughout the year - something to take into account, as many restaurants in Salou are seasonal. The fare is Basque, but they also offer Mediterranean dishes, like a great paella. It has two terraces, good for smokers and for those who want to eat outside, and inside you'll find the dining room with air conditioning and a section devoted to the bar.

Pizzeria Goretti
(3)
Goretti is a pizzeria on Paseo Jaime I. It has a great dining area and a terrace. Normally, whenever my husband and I go there we share a carpaccio and a pizza, which are rather tasty. The customer service is great, the place is cozy and it is well decorated. Prices are moderate and also if you share, you can eat rather well!

La Nonna
(4)
There are plenty of places that I don't know in the tourist area of Salou, so every year we wander around this part of town. Two years ago we ended up in Bilbao street, close to the Paseo de Colon, and found ourselves in the La Nonna pizzeria. Everyone ordered their own pizza apart from me - I chose a combo of American-style fried foods. Well, I was wrong and the others were right, but they let me taste their delicious pizzas. We sat on the terrace and enjoyed the atmosphere.
Cafés in Salou
Caffe di Mare
Caffe di Mare is a nice place right on Paseo Colon, where you can enjoy a great view while sipping a cup of coffee or one of the list of imaginative cocktails (tourists can often be seen taking pictures of these drinks!). It's cozy and well-decorated, with great service. You can also eat something, if you like.
Restaurants in Salou
Robin Hood
The Robin Hood has been in Salou for many years, aimed at a foreign audience. It's on the cosmopolitan Avenida Andorra, a street that consists of 100% entertainment aimed at tourists. It's designed to look like an English pub, with beer served in the traditional way, making it a bit of a spectacle. I've been there a few times but, as a local, I feel a bit out of place.

Casa Blas
Casa Blas is a nice pizzeria near the Paseo Jaime I. It has a dining room and a terrace in a fully air-conditioned premises. They serve Italian and international cuisine. The restaurant is very nice and perfect for dinner with family or friends. The only downside is trying to find a parking space in the summer.

El Rinconcito

It is a very special and different bar from others in Salou, with designs on the walls and doors, with techniques of artists of fine arts. The paintings match the theme of the room. The Iberian Ham is impressive, and they specialize in sandwiches and homemade tapas. The place has 3 rooms, and with three you can enjoy a different corner. I'll go back this summer, they let me read some of their comics.

Il Patriarca

Making a pizza is easy in theory but it is very difficult to find a place where you can get a good pizza - if they don't skimp on the ingredients, the dough is too thick and gooey or sometimes you find strange inventions that are inedible. I remember having one pizza that was dusted with Maldon salt, another that was burned ..... Last week I discovered "Il Patriarca", a place where one can enjoy a good pizza in Salou. The oceanfront restaurant is on Paseo Miramar, with terrace dining where you can enjoy your meal while watching the beautiful landscape. It is a very welcoming place. We ordered a pizza and steak. The service was friendly and fast and the pizza was perfect, with the right amount of ingredients on a thin dough. The steak, I did not try, but my companion said that it was perfect. The prices were very reasonable. They told us that they also do pizzas to go, so I will definitely be trying them again!
