Situated in the popular Stortorget Square in central Stockholm, this is a great restaurant. It has a nice terrace where you'll be given blankets if it's cold. Inside there's a cozy candle-lit basement. It's known for its hot white chocolates, which are breathtakingly good, and sandwiches. They are really good!
If you want to relax and be served by friendly staff, sit in a wicker chair and enjoy a hot chocolate or mochaccino, this is your place. Hungry? There's plenty of candy on offer! The building dates back to 1600, and is located in the old town of Stockholm, Gamla Stan, close to the Nobel Museum. In the evening you can watch the hot air balloon rides ...
A must - for me, the best breakfast in Stockholm. A cozy space with a small terrace when the weather permits. You can have a good breakfast here for 12 euros, with different types of bread available, as well as pastries. Delicious!
The Coffee Gråmunkenfue was a delicious stop along our way and a perfect complement to a beautiful evening in Stockholm. Our stay in the capital of Sweden was fantastic but exhausting, so we took some time to relax in this charming cafe. Gråmunken Café is situated at Västerlånggatan, one of the main thoroughfares of Gamla Stan or the "old town" of Stockholm. Don´t be fooled by the not-so-attractive facade. You´ll find a super cozy décor. However, the real stars of this place are the drink concoctions and cakes. I think I made a very wise choice choosing the hot chocolate and a fruit cake that took my breath away. Gråmunken Coffee also has a very intellectual environment with people reading their books while enjoying some nice sweets or coffee. I think this is one of the most unique and intimate cafes that you´ll ever go to. Maybe it's the cake!
In the Sofo - the trendiest area of the city of Stockholm - we found this unusual cafe, with delicious sandwiches, bread with candied fruit and nuts, sweets and delicious coffee. The site has a blend of antique and modern, sober Swedish designs, and in the background you can make out what looks like a design studio.
The cafe is renowned for its Princess cake. This was the cake featured on Great British Bake Off. It is covered with a thin sheet of green marzipan and inside there are alternating layers of cream, sponge and fruit. Feel like a princess for half an hour and have a slice washed down with a nice cup of tea. This is not the only cake in which the café excels, if you are in Stockholm around lent you can also enjoy the semla cake also filled with cream plus almond paste and flavored with cardamom. More information on the semla tradition can be found here: https://sweden.se/culture-traditions/the-semla-more-than-just-a-bun/
Just the best place to eat in Gamla Stan. This lovely lady serves you vegetarian and vegan burgers, wraps and salads and never fails to amaze with her guacamole or a big portion of fries! Bring some time, because the food is freshly made and this place is all about calming down, taking the stress out of the day. So sit down for some minutes before ordering and then enjoy the food.
