This cafeteria is perfect to go with friends or your significant other. They offer a great variety of tea and coffee, from classic to exotic. I don't drink a lot of coffee, so I chose a Chinese tea that I didn't know (I can't remember the name), and it was exquisite.
My friends ordered a "Barraquito Especial", which was a classic barraquito (coffee with liquor) but crowned with whipped cream...they said it was also exquisite.
The cakes are also very good. They have a great number of different sweets, but the cakes drew our attention. I tried a fruit tart which was very good. The view from the tables in the cafeteria is great. Since it is on the cliff, you can see the sea's immensity and a small cove where some surfers spend the afternoon.
The Palmelita's Bakery and Cafe offer excellent pastry specialties. It's a European bakery and confectionery with establishments in Low tide, San Cristobal de La Laguna and Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Founded in 1968 at Low Tide, Tenerife, it has made a name for itself with its excellent pies, its variety of bread, its jams and its high quality chocolates. There are locations at Castle Street, 9, Santa Cruz de Tenerife; Calle Costa and Grijalva, 12, Santa Cruz de Tenerife; Plaza de la Concepción, Bethlehem Building, San Cristobal La Laguna; Avenue Great Power, Building Piscinas, Low Tide; Carretera General Bajamar - Punta del Hidalgo, 171, Low Tide.
Walking through Santa Cruz I was struck by the water bowls for dogs that were outside bakeries - go and check it out, it's a terrific detail for those who have pets-Looking up I saw a bakery with modern decor, not very big but full of people, so we went in. I felt like I was in a dream: chocolates, cakes mousse type, all of the most varied flavours ... a sweetie of "Peta zetas"? Mojito mousse??, Among other things, you can't resist the counter. It's dinner time, so I hope the photos make you hungry!
I go to this bar every time I'm in La Laguna and it has the best chicken sandwich on the island (I get the one with peppers). The atmosphere is very nice and sometimes there's someone playing the piano. The music there is lovely, so it's always worth it to go over for lunch or dinner, or to drink tea and cake with a friend or to play Parcheesi in a different setting.
Doka Kapi is not one of those places that you find yourself wondering around the city when traveling. It is situated rather far away from the center of San Cristobal de la Laguna and it is a short walk, but worth it. The decor is not what you are used to seeing nowadays: Classical furniture and flowers flooded the whole place. But this is also part of its charm: Every little detail has been perfectly arranged. It's amazing how many things they offer: Variety of beers, teas, juices, smoothies, and muffins and homemade cakes made in a craft bakery which is very close by. It's funny because it's super varied. The owners are a charming addition. I left happy.
