During my stay in Brussels, I spent two nights at this hotel. The view is magnificent, overlooking the Place Jourdan (a square where you'll find the best chocolate shop in Brussels). The staff are friendly, and the breakfast is good. The rooms are very spacious, and the bathroom has a shower and tub. A very nice place to relax in after a day of sightseeing! 5-10 min from the subway.
The name can be misleading. This 4 star hotel is not located in Grand Place, but very close (less than 5 minute walk), just opposite the Grand Casino Brussels. It is quite a large hotel and is located in a 5-storey building with modern architecture. However, the rooms are made with a classic style consisting of dark wood furniture, and the bed headboard consists of a wall of mirrors with fabric. The room was very well furnished and had a desk, a minibar, safe, TV, air conditioning, and coffee maker with instant coffee and tea. The only thing missing was the free wifi (there was a fee). The bathroom is also very spacious and complete with a large bathtub, hair dryer, magnifying makeup mirror and a full range of amenities. The breakfast (buffet) is varied and plentiful: there are meats, cheeses, various breads, assorted pastries, fruit, yogurt, juices, etc. The hotel has 267 rooms (some are suites), a gym, sauna, conference rooms, business center, restaurant, piano bar, reading room ... Though it is not a cheap hotel: a double room costs about 180€ per night, but it is worth it because it is very well located and the rooms are very comfortable.
Hotel Metropole is a five-star hotel where you'll pay just over 100 euros for a night. It is the only nineteenth century hotel still standing in Brussels, with a great location right in the historic centre of the capital of Europe, just a few steps from the Grand Place, the Bourse and the Theatre de la Monnaie. The main entrance is built in the French Renaissance style, and some rooms are Art Deco. In April 2002, the facade and the ground floor of the Hotel Métropole were given a special classification by the Department of Monuments and Sites of the Brussels-Capital Region.
Over the years, this beautiful hotel has served as the backdrop for a number of famous movies. Today you'll find it the epitome of luxury, with buttoned uniforms, photos of the royal family and floral decorations everywhere. But beware the room they give you - if you go to a luxury hotel, and you get a sad room with a filthy balcony and a noisy air conditioner, you shouldn't hesitate before complaining. The Hotel Metropole has 305 rooms, including 14 spacious suites, a bar, and a highly acclaimed gourmet restaurant, "L'Alban Chambon", whichi s sumptuously decorated Italian Baroque style, with innovative and classic cuisine. And there's the Café Métropole, which has a winter terrace open all year.
A great option for travelers looking for comfort, and a local style. The hotel is part of the Italian Rocco Forte hotels group, with a touch of luxury and design. It is located near the Grand Place and the Sablon district. There are 173 rooms and 19 suites. Don't miss the bar, with its stylish signature cocktails!
