Apollo Bay was my third stop along the Great Ocean Road after coming to Port Campbell. It's a nice vacation spot for Australian families with two huge and very beautiful beaches. The surf, like along most of the coast, is something that's always present. You can see older people and little kids catching waves. It's a nice place to stay a couple of days while exploring the GREAT OCEAN ROAD.
Since going to Apollo Bay I've also been to Lorne, and I considered it to be the busiest for Australian tourism in the state of Victoria. It's a pleasant holiday village, with a huge beach in a parkland, making it a typical local family tourism enclave. You can also do some hiking to see the waterfalls
Torquay is well-known place among the surfing crowd, and is home to the world championships in April. One of the world's most famous places for waves, Bells Beach, is in the area. It's a resort on the coast of Victoria, enjoying fantastic beaches, and is a mecca for many surfers from around the globe.
