    tryp oporto centro hotel
    Hotels in
    Porto
The hotel is about a 15-20 minute walk from the centre of Porto, but nearby is a metro stop which drops you at the centre. It is very clean, and the rooms are spacious. The smoking rooms have a large terrace - maybe a bit too big, it would have been better to have more space in the rooms instead. Ask for a room overlooking the city centre; the view on the other side is far from pretty. There's free wifi throughout the hotel, although in some rooms the signal is very weak. The breakfast is good - all the food is great - and for 3 euros, you can eat it in your room. The staff are friendly and helpful if you have any questions, and although most of the area nearby has paid parking, there's a street next to the hotel without any parking meters. Good value.

    Porto
We had excellent service at this hotel, starting with the welcome glass of port. The friendly staff went out of their way to help us in any way possible. The price isn't bad for a 5* hotel. We spent three nights here. On the first day we arrived at noon, and went for a walk around the area. On the second day we took the cart to the port area. We don't really like seeing museums, but we enjoy getting lost in the streets of a new city, and we ate great seafood rice accompanied by green wine at a restaurant - I don't remember its name, but it's almost under the subway bridge. On the third day we went to visit the castles around the port, and when we finished we travelled the 70km to Viana do Castelo, a very pretty village with lovely restaurants.

    Porto
This is a five-star boutique hotel in the center of Oporto, Portugal. The building itself is from the 1950's with a touch of decadence in the entrance, then inside it's all modern decor, but remains uncluttered. Spacious room with high ceilings and comfortable beds, the bathroom was also quite large. The lobby and the first floor are decorated with Portuguese furniture from Boca do Lobo, a Portuguese company. There is also a very modern lounge/bar, and in regard to breakfast there's an assortment of high-quality Portuguese products. The service was good, very personal and pleasant and they even provided a special welcome gift. There are a lot of restaurants and the hotel is well-connected to the airport.

The Vidago Palace hotel, which dates back to the late nineteenth century, is inserted in an enchanting setting. The baths of Vidago (1908) were explored for its springs and medicinal water sources 15 km south of Chaves, Northern Portugal and it occupies 40 hectares of forest. Strolling through the gardens is to enjoy beauty, silence and nature and at the same time be only a fews metres from the modern amenities in the hotel: spa, golf and conference center. It's worth going through if you're right there in the hotel, you can rent course materials, enjoy the spa or just stroll in the garden and its hot springs.

We arrived at the Pousada through a website called "Prestige". The normal price exceeded € 120.00 per night, but we got a room for less than € 60.00 per night in September, with continental breakfast buffet included. There was a pool outside, free parking, free WiFi with password from reception. And a terrace with two teak chairs, if you get the attic room, which is not bad for a few days. It is very well positioned for walking to Viseu.

    Braga
We stayed at the Hotel Melia Braga because we found a significant discount on a travel website. It's a little far from the centre, about 40 minutes by foot. There's a bus stop nearby, but the last bus goes to town at 20:30. The reception is an open space decorated in white and modern furniture. We stayed in a triple room on the top floor. The views were beautiful. There was a double bed, one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in, and a sofa bed, which was also very comfortable. The room had many details, the lights are controlled by embedded panels on the bedside tables. There was a safe, minibar, plasma TV, hairdryer, shower and tub. The room and bathroom were only separated by glass (impractical if you're sharing the room with friends). The hotel featured a spa, Jacuzzi, indoor pool, Finnish sauna, Turkish bath, cold/hot baths, and jet showers. A real delight. Neither the spa nor the gym are included in the room rate. The staff was helpful and accommodating. The Meliã Braga is an excellent choice, but not suitable for all budgets.

Small family hotel with 20 rooms located in the heart of the city but very quiet because it's above a pedestrian street. Simply decorated, they have managed to keep the essence of antique furniture without feeling old or outdated. A comfortable hotel, very clean and an excellent deal. The owners themselves waited on us: A Spanish woman married to a Portuguese man who have just taken the business on a few months ago. In addition, the rooms (especially those with a balcony overlooking the street) are very nice, they have a small living room with a fireplace, ideal for autumn and winter evenings and a small terrace for the summer.

    hotel palacio dos melos
    Hotels in
    Viseu
This "handsome" palace hotel is located in the historic center of Viseu, in a building of great historical and cultural value. The Palacio dos Melos has been categorized as five stars, and it is the result of a profound remodeling of a landmark building, respecting the original architecture and combining it with ancient and modern styles. The hotel has 23 standard rooms, 2 superior rooms and 2 deluxe rooms with a whirlpool, safe, minibar, restaurant, bar. The beds in the rooms are awesome as you can see from the photos I took. It did have a slight problem, although there is no garage, there is also no parking, only 5 or 6 cars come and I have also heard that there is no pool. The positive side of staying in this beautiful hotel with breakfast included is that it is not expensive. The breakfast buffet is ok but I would categorize it as having a four-star level. In short I do not advise you to spend many days in Viseu because it has more to do with their environment, natural landscapes, and places to travel from there, such as villages like Tondela and mountains such as the Caramulo mountains, museums like the automobile museum , if worth a visit.

    Porto
We got lost twice before reaching the hotel! HF Fenix Porto is right next to the Cidade do Porto Mall, so you'll probably need a car if you want to visit downtown Porto. The receptionist told us we could take the subway, but we preferred to drive. The rooms were simple but very clean and well-maintained, but the decor was rather poor in my opinion. From the outside, it looks like a 4-star hotel, but when you enter the room you realize that it's actually pretty old-fashioned. The room had a double bed, TV, telephone, and bathroom, but the carpet was quite old and had some marks on it. I don't understand why hotels feel the need to put carpets in the rooms if they just get dirty like this.

It is located on a hill overlooking the city of Guimarães, the XII century original building includes vaulted ceilings, tiles XVIII, patios with fountains, gardens, balconies and terraces overlooking the city, and lavish accommodations. carandá braga hotel

    Braga
I stayed for a weekend at this 3-star hotel, which was not bad, and pretty convenient. It was the best value that I saw online, 19 euros per person per night with breakfast included, despite it being a holiday weekend. We arrived around 11 am, and had to wait for 10 minutes as the room wasn't ready yet. The room was quite spacious, with three 90cm beds and a good desk. The wardrobe was a bit small, and so was the TV, hung from a bracket on the wall (apparently it has satellite channels, but I don't know as we didn't even turn it on). The furniture was nothing special, but it was functional and modern. The room was perfectly clean, but there was a strange smell - like there was a problem with the pipes, but the bathroom was okay. The floor was carpeted, and there was air conditioning and heating. It was very bright, with one wall being all windows. The trouble is that there was no soundproofing or shutters, so it was noisy at night, and bright at dawn. I didn't like the bed too much, as I prefer hard mattresses and it sank quite a bit. The bathroom was spacious, with a large bath, toilet, bidet, and a marble countertop with built-in sink and plenty of counter space. There weren't many amenities - just a bar of soap in the sink, a gel dispenser on the wall of the tub, and a hairdryer. Hot water came fast and with plenty of pressure, but there was only a shower curtain, not a screen door, and it could have done with a little more lighting. On the ground floor, next to the reception desk, there were vending machines for coffee, cold drinks and snacks. There was a small TV room, with a computer with free internet (wifi was 3 euros an hour or 12 a day, and only in this area), a little bar and breakfast room. The breakfast was served until 10am, but one day we went down at 9:30 and they weren't repleneshing things. Regarding the location, it's on one of the main commercial streets, but it's not quite in the heart of the city - 10 minutes walk away. Be careful parking under the trees, as they produce a sticky liquid that will leave your car quite a mess. In summary, an okay 3-star, but not amazing.

Tall enough to be visible from much of Porto, this is a classic hotel with professional service, spacious rooms, and comfortable beds. It's a pity that it's so far from the centre. At least in the heat of the summer, the road isn't particularly comfortable, and the metro isn't too nearby. The views are stunning.

It's not too big, with 48 spacious, comfortable rooms, with large bathrooms. The breakfast buffet is very complete, and is served in the cafe on the first floor, with stunning river views. It's right in front of the area of wineries, and adjacent to the Luis I Bridge, by which you can walk to the other side of the river. There are plenty of restaurants nearby. I just got back from a couple days staying in this hotel, and I came here to recommend it to those who have thought of traveling to this interesting Portuguese city. The hotel is 15 stops by tram from the airport, and you only have to get off at the station of Trindade. It is a 4* hotel but the best is its short existence, it was only opened in 2010 and its decoration is vanguard and maintained, also everything looks very new. The room can be booked for 70€ with a fantastic breakfast made up of homemade pastries and natural juices. It is possible to get to all parts of the city from here by foot. Another thing to take into account is the charming receptionist speaks Spanish. I will return.

Certainly to be repeated. A magnificent 3-star hotel opposite Guimarães train station and within walking distance of the Palace and Centro Cultural Vila Flor. From here you can stroll to the historic city center in 10-15 minutes, following Afonso Henriques. It's a multi-storey building with 72 rooms equipped with air conditioning, satellite TV, wireless internet (fee), minibar and safe. Our room was very spacious, carpeted, with two beds, two tables, desk, wardrobe and luggage racks, the decor was simple and the room was very comfortable. The bathroom was pretty good, curiously it wasn't tiled but the walls were lined with striking blue anti-moisture panels. There was a hairdryer, large bathtub, other amenities and the cleanliness was immaculate. The reception was huge - filled with sofas and a small wifi space. The huge breakfast room was on the top floor, with large windows from which you can see the entire city. It was a buffet breakfast nothing great, but the usual: bread for toast, pastries, cereal, scrambled eggs and bacon. In July it was 45 € with breakfast. The hotel was very good, so I recommend it.

At the end of the Ave Two Combatentes da Grande Guerra ,next to the shopping Estação Viana Shopping, you will find the Casa dos Melo Alvim, the oldest building in the city (the year 1509), which has been converted into a hotel and restaurant. The palace was expanded several times over its history, and given the Baroque and Portuguese Manueline. In the process of restoration it has managed to keep the original structure, with its inner cloister and its gardens. It it two stories high with only 20 rooms, each decorated differently, but in an old style, with wooden furniture and Louis XIV-type canopy beds. The equipment is very basic: A bed with side tables and a seating area with a couple of armchairs. The restaurant ("Count do Tamarindo") has been closed for renovation since January 2010. But it has a bar - cafeteria where they were still serving breakfast, a buffet.

The result strikes a balance between minimalism and architecture of the ancient monastery, built in the seventeenth century. This is the perfect place for a romantic visit, and it will surely be unforgettable.

This is a luxury hotel with 12 floors and spa downstairs, near the metro station Casa do Musica and has good communication with the airport. The rooms are very spacious and all have advanced technology, a modern and spacious bathroom. The buffet breakfast was varied and the spa was okay with a heated pool and a massage area. The hotel is in a tranquil area of Porto (Boavista) but a little far from the center of the city. If you can, choose a room in the last floor for the views. When I was there, in mid-August 2007, staying there were all the musical groups of the festiva of Paredes de Coura. It was interesting to see the favorite groups of music doing their thing, above all the English ones.

This is a family-operated hotel run by an older couple with a few employees. It's in the upper part of town, just a three minute walk to the center where you can shop. It has two parts, one old and one more modern, but both are very good and have good views. The room furnishings are classic, but new. The are is very quiet and has a huge parking lot (for 12 to 15 cars). The owners service offer exceptional and friendly serive. The rooms are spacious, with AC and heating, TV and the price includes breakfast (made by the owner). We found it pretty cheap (40 € for a double room with breakfast). They have recently installed WiFi. It's possible that the centre offers cheaper hotels, but for those in which I've stayed, this is the best in Miranda. We like it because it's very clean and each time we go, it's better, with even newer things. More information on the web.

    Miranda do Douro
On Sunday, before leaving Miranda, I took the car to visit the Santa Lucia on the outskirts of town, where I found the [poi = 89822]indoor and outdoor swimming pools [/ poi] and campsite. You park your car and have a chance to see some camping facilities. It is listed as Category 2, and is only open in summer (from June 1 to September 30). I went in August and still saw many tents. It has an area of 17,000 m2 and a total of 150 plots. Besides having shops, there is also an area for RVs. There was good shade under the pines, but the ground seemed very hard and dry, devoid of any grass, so I guess it's a bit difficult to anchor the tents. There was a booth at the entrance, a reception area, a bar-cafe, and toilets (with hot showers). Well, it is an economical choice of accommodation, but keep in mind that you need to use the car to go to downtown.
