This Hotel Balneario is situated on the outskirts of Medina del Campo, four kilometres in the direction of Velascálvaro (access from the village is signposted), in a palace built in the early twentieth century (in the style of the Magdalena Palace in Santander) in the countryside surrounded by beautiful gardens, which exude a calm and total tranquillity.
Although I did not stay there, I approached to visit it on the recommendation of someone from the tourist office, being that as well as the hotel itself and the therapeutic treatments offered in the spa area, it has a super cool cafe where you can have a drink in their gardens and view temporary expositions (on this occasion there were two, devoted to modern art sculptures, titled "itinerARTciones" and "Shared Nature").
Opposite the palace is the Millennium Chapel, an authentic work of avant-garde art for its exterior alone (too bad it is closed Sunday afternoons and I could not see the museum inside).
There were a fair amount of people out having a drink and viewing the garden expositions and entering the hotel, so I queued up ... it’s beautiful, decorated in full with curious antiques and last century furniture, huge chandeliers and carpets, not excessively, very tastefully. It has a three-star category but I got the feeling it had more.
It has 64 rooms, restaurant cafe, pool, tennis court, reading room, and, of course, spa, whose waters have the greatest mineralization in Europe. They offer all kinds of treatments, all under medical supervision (jets, thermal baths, swimming baths, sauna, massages, parafangos ((A combination of dehydrated beauty mud, paraffin’s, and other healing ingredients))...), curative as well as beauty based as well as special programs on the weekend.
Nearby there is a riding school and a golf course, so they also offer combination packages and deals in this regard. Truth is, I thought it was a great place and, above all, very tranquil. I was left with the urge to go enjoy a weekend of relaxation and total disconnection, I surely will another time.
The Plaza Hostel has several strengths, but the main one is definitely that it is in the heart of the Medina. The rooms, at least the room where I stayed, are very spacious with a bathroom, TV and other things. It has a total of 7 rooms on two floors, plus a snack service you could ask for, which, I guess will be the bar below. The owner is friendly and does not have problems with anything.
Three star hotel opened in 1999, with ten years of experience in serving customer's needs in accommodation, catering and catering service. The Hotel Villa de Ferias is five minutes walk from the center of Medina del Campo. It is next to the A-6 at Exit 156, 90 minutes from Madrid and 40 km from Valladolid. The hotel has 38 single, double, triple and suites, which are equipped with air conditioning, heating, bathroom, minibar and TV. The hotel has free wireless internet access in all rooms and public areas, also it has ample parking and private parking available for customers.
Really wonderful, although recently built, it could pass for old, as it is built and decorated with taste and class, besides being extremely comfortable. The treatment from the owners is unbeatable, they offered everything we needed, as well as all the necessary information about Medina. Breakfast was amazing, abundant and, as I say, exquisite. Price wise it was wonderful, we were there a week and took advantage of an offer of 60 euros a room with spa bath, ADSL connection, television - it was a wide and very comfortable room. I definitely recommend.
