Dubai is one of seven emirates that form the United Arab Emirates. It´s a city that does not seem older than 50 years. There are skyscrapers, the tallest buildings in the world, gigantic malls, artificial beaches, eight lane highways, and luxurious hotels. Dubai seems like it is the new NY for Arab countries. If you are planning a trip to Dubai, you should know that it is almost impossible to travel without a car. Public transport is very reduced and their service is deficient. The advantage of renting a car is that oil is very cheap. There are also water taxis which are boats that take you from one side to the other of the Dubai Creek for only one dirham. This is the transport of the working class which consists mostly of Indians and Filipinos. There´s no need to be a sociologist to clearly differentiate the two dominant classes of the city. There are some 100 nationalities in Dubai but the Arab population does not exceed 20%. There is a neighborhood known as Little India where you can enjoy the taste of India at an affordable price. The Dubai Creek divides the city in two parts. Deira is in the North and is the commercial and traditional side. Bur Dubai is in the South and here you´ll find a mix between the more historical city and more modern neighborhoods. The history of this city is represented at the Dubai Museum. You should also visit the Dubai Mall which is the largest mall in the world (and not recommended for anyone allergic to shopping malls). It has 1,200 shops, an ice rink and an aquarium. It occupies the same amont as space as 50 football fields! A friend of mine from Malaga was explaining his travels to me and even though he was astonished at what he saw, he concluded that it "still was not worth the trip." Dubai Tourism isn´t so much a cultural visit as it is a journey into the future. But as all of us travelers know, there are surprises around every corner. I hope you enjoy the sunset.
During my stay in Dubai, I wanted to see the famous Atlantis hotel. Arriving by public transport is very complicated, the subway does not pass by it so I went by taxi, which was not very cheap (although the taxis there are cheaper than in Spain). When you get to the hotel you realize that you can't see anything from ground. The surrounding buildings are just normal houses and, unless you are looking at the island from the air, you can't really see any structural parts of the island that the hotel is on. No doubt that staying at Atlantis is amazing, but to just visit it is not worthwhile. You arrive, and unless you're a guest, you can't enter the hotel. I got out of the car while the driver waited for me, I took a picture and had to leave again. It was nothing special and I think it could have saved me money by not going. It was not worth it to go there. I would only go back if I knew someone staying in the hotel who would allow me to visit.
A hotel with authentic Asian luxury opened in 2005, which, unlike the Burj al Arab in Dubai, won't give you any problems have problems getting here, leaving the car, and visiting quietly, at your leisure. Nobody will give you any problems. We arrived at the hotel and we went into the carport, which was free. The carport is indicative of what you'll see as a guest there. There's a fleet of BMW and Rolls Royce, the same hotel that made it available to customers. The garage has enough room for 2500 vehicles. The hotel and its gardens are something you have to see. You can not miss a ride in their luxurious floor lobbies and corridors and balconies adorned with marble and gold domes. Everything shines, spotless, like a temple. The hotel has two pools and spas, a private beach and a helicopter pad. According to the New York Times, the Emirates Palace is the most expensive hotel ever built. Many of its suites are adorned with gold and marble. trip to Dubai and Abu Dhabi in My trunk blogs

This is part of the Address hotel chain. There are five in Dubai but this is most famous for its location next to the Burj Khalifa, the Dubai Mall and its fountains. The Address Downtown Burj Khalifa hotel is 306 meters high, has 63 floors, and is a five star hotel. It offers all the luxuries and amenities of a 5 star hotel but is particularly interesting for the average traveler. You can visit the pools, lounges and wonderful views of the Burj Khalifa. You could say that this hotel is unique in the world. Located in the Al-Maha Desert, surrounded by nature and even wild animals, it has all the comforts of the city. It has a pool, spa, sauna, steam room, and visitors can enjoy trips on horseback, camel, or 4x4. The food is light and healthy, and the classic rooms have wooden furniture and a Bedouin touch. A stay here costs about 1500 € per night.
We were in Dubai for 7 nights and we found several very luxurious apartments at affordable prices. Our original plan was to stay in one of the four Ibis Hotels in Dubai which was under 70 € per night for a double room. But then we found this precious apartment for 200 € a night and for four, we decided that it would be worth it. This apartment was perfect - the total for the 7 nights was € 1470 (which was less than 53 EUR per person, per night) and it was located in the Basri in palm jumeirah so it had wonderful views.
Fairmont The Palm is one of the most luxurious hotels in Dubai. It has almost 400 rooms, all with balconies and spectacular views, and a huge range of services: restaurants from around the world, chill-out areas, shops, gym, an incredible pool with deck chairs and sun beds, and a private white sand beach. The staff of the hotel ensures that you always have a clean towel and a free bottle of water when the temperatures are up. From the pool or the beach, the sunset is priceless. Breakfast is very varied and can be eaten in a dining room with sea views, or on the terrace.
When visiting Dubai, you should seriously consider staying at the Ibis. The Ibis there are better than the European Ibis chain and the price is about 70 euros per night for a double. This particular Ibis is very close to the center, next to the first skyscraper in Dubai, the Dubai World Trade Center, which was built in 1979 and reaches 149 meters. Staying next to the iconic building enables you to view the Emirates tower and the Burj Khalifa when you look towards downtown. The Ibis World Trade Centre Dubai (Dubai - Dubai - UAE) is located on Sheikh Zayed Road | PO Box 9544, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It hosts 210 guestrooms, all designed to satisfy its guests. All rooms have air conditioning and wireless internet. This Dubai hotel offers a bar, restaurant, handicap facilities, and a three-star rating.
Without a doubt, the Park Hyatt is one of the most beautiful hotels in Dubai. It is an oasis in the desert. It´s well cared for landscaping, which perfectly combines water, vegetation and architecture, makes you forget the high temperatures of the emirates, and prompts you to explore every corner of this beautiful hotel. From the window you can see the tallest building in the world, 'Burj Khalifa', the division of Dubai Creek and the only golf course located within the city. If you go for a walk, you´ll find the Yacht Club, where the real gems of navigation dwell. The spaces and the lights at night, which seem like a work of art, was very curious. You feel like you´re in a different place. I think it´d be a worthy setting of the stories of the Thousand and One nights. The rooms are predominantly white with a touch of modern and functionality. This hotel is an experience in itself. This accommodation in Dubai has always been my favorite choice for resting, disconnecting from work and playing golf. If you intend to travel around and see 'things', your pool will act as a magnet and you´ll find yourself caught up in the really interesting gardens not seeing everything you wanted to see. You´ve been warned...you´ll want to stay!

The rooms are new, with simple furniture in dark wood. We had a small room without windows, but overall the hotel is great! The Rigga metro station is less than 10 minutes away, and the international airport is 15 minutes by car.

A great option for accommodation in Dubai. When we stayed there it was called the Highlands Hotel, but the name has changed since then. It's just 15 minutes from the airport, and near the new shopping area. It has two restaurants, a bar, a club, a rooftop pool, gym, jacuzzi and other top quality services. The rooms are comfortable and well-soundproofed. Room service is great and the staff are friendly. It costs about $100 a day for a couple.
Decent, but nothing really stood out. We arrived very late at night, coming straight from the airport. There was a party going on downstairs, but luckily we couldn't hear anything in our room. It's about a 15-minute walk from the nearest metro station.
